Brand g Vacations is pleased to introduce our 2025 Ecuador and the Galapagos Expedition. We have chartered the National Geographic Endeavour II, equipped for comfort as well as in-depth exploration. With a capacity of only 96 guests, this adventure offers all aspects of the Galapagos: intimate contact with wildlife, active volcanoes, a vast Marine Reserve, camaraderie, comfort and safety.
Your all-lgbt+ adventure begins with a full day tour in Quito, home to the best-preserved, least altered historic center in Latin America. Founded in the 16th century on the ruins of an Inca city and stands at an altitude of 9,350 feet. From Quito, fly to Baltra Island where you will board a ferry to Santa Cruz Island, the most populous in the archipelago. Explore the highlands of the islands with their lush vegetation before venturing down to the world-famous Charles Darwin Research Station to meet giant tortoises face to face.
Sail to a stunning anchorage at Santa Fe Island for a visit to this sandy white beach with many sea lion harems, a wonderful spot for our first snorkel, kayak or ride aboard our glass-bottom boat. Disembark amid the waters of South Plaza Island, with its yellow-gray land iguanas munching cactus fruits and coastline where we find sea lion colonies and dozens of sea birds.
A visit to North Seymour Island starts with a walk along the coast and the interior of this island, observing numerous bird colonies as well as sea lions and marine iguanas. Enjoy the north shore of Santa Cruz Island and its beautiful white beaches, great for a swim or snorkel. Bartolomé Island provides an unbeatable volcanic viewpoint, golden-sandy beach and excellent wildlife exploration for snorkelers. Following the cruise, fly back to the mainland for an overnight in Guayaquil. This tropical city is the financial and commercial center of the country, on the banks of the Guayas River.
At the airport you will be greeted and escorted to the Go Quito Hotel. A welcome reception will be held that evening at the hotel.
(Welcome Reception)
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart at 9:00 am to begin a special tour of Quito. This trip will show the city’s rich history, from pre-Columbian periods through the colonial period, then the city’s transition into the capital of a Republic, and finally its modern magnificence, which persuaded UNESCO to name Quito the first “Cultural Heritage Site” in 1978.
We disembark at the heart of the ancient town, the Independence Square, also known as Plaza Grande, the symbol of Ecuador’s Executive Power. The major attraction is a monument honoring the heroes of August 10, 1809, which is recognized as the anniversary of the Royal Audience of Quito’s First Cry of freedom from the Spanish monarchy.
Continue to the church of La Compañia. The construction of this Colonial Jewel began in 1605 and was completed in 1650. Its golden interior sparkles like a gem, and its paintings, sculptures, altars, cupola, and pulpit have been properly illuminated so that all features can be appreciated, where visitors will find why this church is regarded as the Crown gem of the colonial baroque in the Americas. We will head up a flight of stairs to reach the dome, from which we will have a spectacular view of the cupulas and Panecillo Hill.
After, we visit Yumbos chocolate store, located in the center of Quito’s colonial downtown. It offers wonderful items and allows us to share the magical experience of chocolate tasting in a variety of presentations.
We continue on to San Francisco Square, the city’s largest colonial structure. Its construction began barely a few weeks after the Spanish took over Quito in 1534 but was not completed for almost 70 years. Although much of the church was rebuilt after the earthquake, part of it is original. Original tile work may be found in the chapel of Señor Jesús del Gran Poder, which is located to the right of the main altar. The main altar is a magnificent example of baroque craftsmanship, and the ceiling has Moorish influences.
Next, we visit Panecillo Hill. The Virgin of El Panecillo, commonly known as the Virgin of Quito, is placed on top of the hill and stands 135 feet (41 meters) tall, making it the highest statue in Ecuador and one of the highest in South America. At the Pims del Panecillo restaurant, you will enjoy a delicious and typical Ecuadorian lunch while learning about local food. On top of that you will get to enjoy the performance of the first folkloric group formed by LGBTQ+ people.
After the performance we continue on to the Middle of the World. Ecuador got its name during a visit by the Geodesic Mission in the 18th century. This crew arrived in Quito to determine the latitude and form of the earth. During this mission, it was discovered that the planet was round and that the “middle of the world” was located in this country. Several thematic and interactive displays can be found inside the iconic Equatorial Monument.
Return to the hotel at approx. 5:30 pm

Then tour the neighboring captive breeding program for endangered Galápagos giant tortoises run by the Galápagos National Park Service and supported by the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Fund. Take a walk through the town of Puerto Ayora before traveling into the highlands to observe and photograph giant tortoises in the wild.

ISLA ESPAÑOLA: See swallow-tailed gulls, Española mockingbirds, boobies and waved albatrosses (seasonally) in this birder’s paradise. Walk among vivid green-and-red marine iguanas and unique lava lizards and observe sea lions up close on a pristine white-sand beach.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
ISLA ISABELA: Explore the largest island in the group, home to marine iguanas, abundant sea turtles, the only species of flightless cormorant in the world, and the only penguin species that inhabits the equator. Cruise by Zodiac and hike against a backdrop of giant shield volcanoes, and snorkel in the cool waters that often draw whales and dolphins to the area.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
ISLA FERNANDINA: Discover the marine iguana haven of Punta Espinoza as you hike over hardened lava flows. Galápagos hawks, sea lion nurseries and rare flightless cormorants can be found while exploring this island. Snorkel among sea turtles, penguins, and the occasional marine iguana.

After breakfast, disembark the ship and fly to Guayaquil, where we’ll transfer directly to the Wyndham Guayaquil Hotel for check-in and a light (late) lunch buffet will be served. Later this evening we have a farewell dinner at a local restaurant where you may bid farewell to your traveling companions.
