Introduction:
Many of you already know the Scottish sprite, AKA our beloved Johnathon Gallagher, the man who hosts Brand g trips around the world. He’s committed to ensuring that you have a grand time, whether you like it or not.
- What’s your favorite part of your job?
Connecting with the guests – even the drunk ones, or maybe especially the drunk ones – and enhancing people’s trips with #lifechanging prizes onboard. Nothing says “my world will never be the same” like a Brand g backpack or beer cozy, don’t you think?
I love walking the dining room each night during dinner to share my sparkling personality. Some have enquired about an “off” switch, but I’m sure they mean that I must turn all that glamour off when I retire to my cabin each night (room number available upon request).
- What’s your favorite Brand g memory?
Lying on top of a speaker to keep it from falling over during an Amy & Freddy show. It was an odd moment of rough seas in the Adriatic, and Jeff, Brian and I had to hold the sound equipment in place, lest it mow down an unsuspecting server.
Amy & Freddy were, of course, total troopers and the consummate professionals that they are. Amy worked especially hard not to spill her drink, which was terribly considerate to the bar staff.
- What is your favorite travel destination?
Like my men, I love variety, and I appreciate the vast array of scenery, cultures and experiences that this incredible world offers:
Porto, Portugal – for the vibe.
Africa – for the wildlife and exotic food.
Seville, Spain – for the contrasting ancient and modern cultures of tradition and hip design.
India – for the humbling experience of seeing a proud yet third–world civilization.
Cambodia – because the people are simply amazing.
- What’s the best thing about living in Scotland?
Men in kilts.
Oh, and the fact that it’s obscenely beautiful.
It is, of course, my homeland, and I can’t wait to show it off to those of you who are accompanying me on our 2021 inaugural Scotland trip.
I feel truly lucky to get to live in Dumfries – near my elderly parents, my sister and other family members – and still work with Brand g.
- What is the most embarrassing job you ever had?
I had to dress up as a parrot – the company mascot of a UK travel agency – and try to coax passersby to come in. Oddly, people seem to find a 5’8” bird a trifle unsettling. I was cussed at, made fun of, and asked to demonstrate how parrots mate. And that was by the adults.
- What would you be if you could be anything?
Thin.
- What is your greatest extravagance?
My two cockapoos, Doug & Dolly, and fine red wine (but only those over $3). Doug & Dolly are frequent happy hour guests, although we’re still working on their conversational technique.
- What one thing would you want people to know about you?
Most of you will be shocked to know that I am single, although applications are currently being accepted. Prospective husbands should be under 100 (unless rich) and open to traveling the world. Priority given to anyone holding first class upgrades.
