Lima, the capital of Peru, lies on the country’s arid Pacific coast. Though its colonial center is preserved, it’s a bustling metropolis and one of South America’s largest cities. It’s home to the Museo Larco collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museo de la Nación, tracing the history of Peru’s ancient civilizations.
Your Brand g city tour of Lima, a UNESCO world heritage site, will include the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, and City Hall. Visit the Church and Convent of the San Francisco Monastery, and the Cathedral which houses the remains of Francisco Pizarro, the founder of Lima. Your tour will include the Pueblo Libre District to visit the Larco Museum, and a panoramic drive through Miraflores and San Isidro and to see the sites of “Parque de los Enamorados” (Lover’s Park), where you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
On the Brand g city tour, you will see some of the best of what Lima has to offer. Given Lima’s size, it’s impossible to cover it all in one day. Here are some options for your independent time in Lima. **Keep in mind, operational hours may vary, especially on Sundays. **
Miraflores and Barranco Neighborhoods – Our host hotel is situated in the heart of Miraflores – one of Lima’s best districts for shopping, dining, and more. Many of the restaurants recommended are within walking distance from the hotel. Just south of Miraflores is the neighborhood of Barranco. Both neighborhoods have so much to offer. Ask the concierge for a map to help you get situated with the neighborhood.
Shopping Center Larcomar(Centro Comercial Larcomar) – Just a 10-15 minute walk from the host hotel, the Shopping Center Larcomar has great shopping and some of the best views of the ocean in Lima. This mall has many international brands as well as local options. In addition, they have full service restaurants, quick food, and cafés. With all these options, the Shopping Center Larcomar is a simple way to spend some of your free time in Lima.

Huaca Pucllana – In Miraflores lies the pyramid known as Huaca Pucllana. Construction of this marvel was begun around 100 CE by the early Peruvian’s. Peruvians are known for their mastery of construction, and this is no exception. Now, Huaca Pucllana is home to a museum with exhibits of textiles, ceramics, tools, and more. Also, there is a restaurant with a spectacular view. Guests have notably liked the view more than the food.

Lima, Peru has a big openly-gay community in this city of nearly 9 million people, and many LGBT + are well and truly out of the closet. However, the gay scene in Lima is so well-hidden that at first sight it appears there is no gay community there at all – but here a couple of gay-friendly gems.
La Jarrita: Jr camana 949 (centro de Lima) Lima, Peru 1. 5pm to close, Thursday through Sunday. Popular with many local Peruvian gay men including military boys! Primarily a dance club that starts getting going around midnight and is open until 4am.
Open Deck Cruise Cafe: Avenida la Paz 580, Miraflores. Open Sun 12:00-18:00, Mon-Wed 17:00-23:00, Fri-Sat 17:00 – 00:00. Once you step inside the bar you feel like you’ve just connected with your Peruvian LGBTQ family – with friendly patrons and staff. Great cocktails as well as a few swanky dishes and cakes.
All of our trips include arrival and departure airport transfers, most meals, included beverages and so much more! Plus our trips are hosted, meaning someone from Brand g will be with you the entire time to take care of the details, so you can simply relax and enjoy your vacation.
