Who doesn’t love some showtunes on the Seine? Or a little drag on the Danube?
On a Brand g European river cruise, every night is opening night. Our cruises always include two featured acts (occasionally three) who provide nightly entertainment throughout the cruise. These entertainers have become so popular, some guests leave dinner early to score prime seats (for easy panty-throwing access) to their shows.
At a Jennifer Holiday concert I was at once, conductor Marvin Hamlisch pointed to the roof of the concert hall and said, “Get a good look at that now…because in two hours, it won’t be there.” And the same can be said of Brand g’s blow-the-roof-off performers.
One really special benefit of seeing these entertainers on a river cruise is that, in most instances, they’re onboard the ship for the whole week with us. And those of you who’ve been on a river cruise know that the ships are relatively tiny in comparison to 6,000-person ocean cruise ships. Which means you’re going on small-group excursions with them, eating dinner with them, etc. So, you have the opportunity to get to know these incredibly talented artists as people.

Amy & Freddy – They’re an institution, and for good reason. If Amy wasn’t such a great singer, she could have been the next Kathy Griffin. And Freddy is the consummate pianist and arranger, who makes every song look effortless. They’re a smash hit everywhere they play. Those of you who know that Amy was enduring a bout of cancer will be happy to know that she has kicked its butt, and they’re BACK, baby.
(Ann Hampton Callaway)
Ann Hampton Callaway – This Tony nominee and revered cabaret artist has written songs for Barbra Streisand (her work is featured on seven of Streisand’s CD’s), Carole King and others, and has performed on the biggest concert stages around the world. She will have you in hysterics one moment and crying the next. Bring Kleenex – you’ve been warned.
(Miss Conception)
Miss Conception – Miss C is one of the funniest drag entertainers you will ever see, and the toast of Toronto. Her shows are filled with nonstop energy, hilariously over-the-top costumes, and more laughs per minute than should ever be legal. The standing ovations for her shows are legendary.
(Branden & James)
Branden & James – These boys give a LOT more than just sexy good looks. Branden (a former America’s Got Talent finalist) provides the gorgeous vocals and piano, and has performed with The Metropolitan Opera and the 12 Tenors, among many. And his now-husband James, who has performed with Idina Menzel, Olivia Newton John and many others, provides extraordinary backing on the cello. They’re a can’t-miss act.
Alison Jiear – a new addition to the Brand g family and one our guests adore, Alison(an Aussie by birth) was a Britain’s Got Talent finalist – Simon Cowell called her performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone “one of the best performances in the history of the show” – and is a smash U.K. cabaret artist and West End musical actress. She also happens to be one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
